I enjoyed reading the fact about Wilbur Wright..have been to Governors Island a few times and didn't know that wonderful piece of its history. I just wanted to mention that I'm involved in a great weekend event there on Sept 13 and 14 that history buffs might enjoy: it's a free 1920s Great Gatsby weekend..live music, vintage cars, dancing (and Charleston and Peabody lessons), picking, pie recipe contest, period games, and vintage clothing events. Its in the final month of the Governors Island season, and could be a wonderful time for people to go check it out. For info, go to the calendar section of www.dreamlandorchestra.com.
